The Incredible phonebox cam!

The Incredible phonebox cam just started as a joke to wind up my housemate. He went outside for a smoke, and I got people to ring it, to see if he would answer. Then I gave the number out to a few more people and they rang it to see if random passers by would answer it. Eventually I found myself running a 24 hour webcast of the phonebox and the link being sent out to thousands of people.

Sadly, as of the 7th of May, the fun has come to an end, as BT have stopped the box taking incoming calls. I don't know if they worked out why the box was always ringing, (and believe me, for the daylight hours of 5 days it was ringing continually) but as the engineer never came across the road to knock on my door, I can only assume that they assumed that the exchange had gone loopy and was connecting calls at random, rather than the obvious answer of a bored person with too much free time being responsible.

Update: I've recieved an email from a source who's asked to remain anonymous. Aparently BT knew about this site, but don't seem to be that worried about getting into contact to complain at me, as the fault has been closed - Looks like they have a sense of humour themselves. Apparently before they discovered the site, the engineer had installed a device into the box to make the ringer quieter

All is not lost, however, because I have documented all the calls that people told me of, in the Incredible phonebox hall of fame!
