Alpha 0.0 preview

This is just a quick screenshot as I managed to get a first working connection going last night. Sadly it's hugely limited at the moment, and doesn't work over GPRS, so it's not worthy of a release yet!

It's the product of about an evening's work, and so is still in a very early stage (the interface is incredibly clunky, and it barely supports any irc commands - just enough to connect to a hardcoded server and autojoin a hardcoded channel.

Keep your eyes peeled, as I'll post updates here (and on the MoDaCo Smartphone Software forum too)

Update

Sadly Spirc never progressed to far, due to a complete inability to get it to connect properly over GPRS (it only worked using a passthrough connection.)
So sadly the project is shelved.

However, if you've got a 2003 based smartphone, try SmartIrc.
